Cinemagraphs of Heap Seng Leong Coffeeshop

Chia Aik Beng opens a virtual time capsule with his haunting cinemagraphs of the coffeeshop still standing from the yesteryears.

F eaturing the brilliant use of cinemagraphs, photographer and videographer Chia Aik Beng overlays a haunting Mandarin oldies tune as he showcases with great effect – almost like a time capsule – the aged coffeeshop and the people that patronise the joint.

Cinemagraphs are still photographs in which a minor and repeated movement occurs. Cinemagraphs, which are usually published in an animated GIF format, can give the illusion that the viewer is watching a video.

Heap Seng Leong Coffeeshop is located at Blk 10, North Bridge Road, Singapore 190010
